Red, Black & White Mini Tree

We are still decorating here at moms house! While going through items in the basement I came across the top of an old Christmas tree so I suggested we put it in a vase and put it on the desk in moms bedroom, she liked the idea so off we went to find items that would work in her Black & White Toile Bedroom.

I wanted to add some color to the tree so I once again started searching the basement and found some white enamel spray paint and thought well, why not give it a try and see what happens! It turned out perfect! I didn't want an all white look and with it being enamel it just gave the tree a nice glazed look.

I am joining Marty @ http://astrollthrulife.blogspot.com  for Tabletop Tuesday!

We put white glittered picks, a white snowflake garland, glass pendants and mini black and silver bulbs (from Hobby Lobby) on the tree.

A silver metal basket is holding 2 presents, a mini silver stocking, a small decorative mannequin and a night light.

We placed the vase on a really pretty white doilie trimmed in black and silver which is laying on a black and white plate and underneath is a silver beaded charger.

We put red lights on the tree because there is little pops of red throughout the room as an accent color.

Thanks for stopping by and have fun decorating!

Grapevine Christmas Wreath

Linking to Metamorphosis Monday with Susan at BNOTP.
Visit her here for some more wonderful transformations!  http://betweennapsontheporch.blogspot.com

I found this gigantic grapevine wreath at a church rummage sale and they only wanted $5.00 for it so I snagged it right away and since my mom has a gigantic window on the front porch I gave it to her.

I wasn't able to get a picture of it before mom had a big bow and some large Christmas balls added to it but you can see the transformation from there.

We purchased some Dollar Tree Bulbs and Ribbon

Mom also found some silver beads and a couple of little snow bird picks in with her Christmas Collection to add as well.

These little snow birds are just too cute!

And now for the finished product!

Thank You so much for visiting!

Leg Warmers!

So! I went to Dollar Mania in London, Ky this weekend while I was visiting family and found the most beautiful leg warmers! And guess what? They were only $1.00 each!! I loved the assortment of colors they had and couldn't make a decision so I bought one of each lol.... seemed like the right thing to do.

Do you wear leg warmers? I know they are very much in style this winter so I look forward to matching them up with some cute outfits.

Let me know your thoughts on leg warmers!!

I'm Thankful For........

What am I THANKFUL for?

Well, first of all I am THANKFUL for God's free gift of salvation and for his love and care for his children.

I am so very THANKFUL for my parents who have raised me and helped me become the woman I am today. I love them so much and I am blessed to have them with me still as so many people have lost their parents.

I am THANKFUL for my siblings, (wait- did I really just type that?) lol..... just kidding, yes! I am THANKFUL for my brother and sister who have knocked down my building blocks (ahem....Lance) and shared my diary with the boy I liked (cough cough.... Kimberly) and so many other fond and precious memories that we share.

I am THANKFUL and Blessed (far more than I deserve) with the wonderful man that the Lord picked for me to spend the rest of my life with. He is my best friend, my comforter, my supporter, my lover and so much more.

I am SO THANKFUL for the 'lil' man that the Lord blessed me with 4.5 yrs ago. My greatest joy is being a mother. My heart is so full of love for this small blessing that calls me mommy, I can't imagine my life without him.

I am THANKFUL for the few friends that I have that are true friends, the ones I can call any time day or night and they will be there to listen or lend a hand. Those friends are few and far between and I cherish the ones that I have.

I am THANKFUL for the extended family that I have. Although we don't see each other often or get to spend alot of quality time together I know they will be there for me if I need them.

I am THANKFUL for the material things that the Lord has blessed me with but those things I can live without.

I am THANKFUL for my teachers, preachers and leaders who have sacrifed their time and spent their energy on me.

I am THANKFUL for our service men and women who sacrifice their lives for my freedom.

I have so much to be THANKFUL for, I am truly blessed..........

Happy Thanksgiving!

A Tennessee Thanksgiving

Well, it certainly has been very busy this last week. Lots of baking, cooking and decorating going on around here. We enjoyed our dinner on Saturday with ten of our family members and I want to share with you our Thanksgiving Dinner Table Setting! Everyone was so hungry that I had no time to get pictures of the food lol..... but our menu consisted of:
                                                                                         Turkey
                                                                                         Ham
                                                                                         Baked Beans
                                                                                         Corn Pudding
                                                                                         Carrots
                                                                                         Corn Bread Salad
                                                                                         Mashed Potatoes
                                                                                         Sweet Potatoes
                                                                                         Dinner Rolls
                                                                                         Pickled Beets
                                                                                         Cranberry Stuffing
Now that is just the main menu! Our Dessert Bar consisted of:
                                                                                         Cherry Pie
                                                                                         Oatmeal Cake
                                                                                         Blackberry Jam Cake
                                                                                         Carrot Cake
                                                                                         Pumpkin Pie
                                                                                         Pumpkin Torte
                                                                                         Peanut Butter Pie
                                                                                         Transparent Pie
Oh, we were all in misery for the next 24 hours lol.....everything was so good!

You will notice that on the dinner plates there is a large cup, well we filled them with individual carrot cakes. They fit just perfectly and looked so nice.
Our turkey tealight/place card holders have made their grand appearance! We placed leaves in them and just wrote everyones name on the leaf with a sharpie.
Thank you for stopping by and have a Wonderful Thanksgiving Day with your Friends and Loves Ones!
